How do we follow what wants to come through us into this world? The School of Following Life
A nine-month course for those who feel a shift — internal or external — and want to use their limited heartbeats here to engage in meaningful ways.
For those who feel a shift.
This course is for people who feel something changing in their lives — who witness the changes in the world and want to use their limited heartbeats here to engage in meaningful ways.
This generally happens through an internal or external shift. We are changing inwardly and that change wants to have expression in our external world — or a shift in the external world is forcing internal changes in us.
No matter how the shift emerges, there is something calling our attention. A shift is at play. Learning is ahead.
Whether the shift is occurring through external circumstances — like losing a job — or internally, like a strong pull toward a new direction in your life, the choice is really the same: to resist or flow, to fight or befriend.
Like a river that has been dammed but is now breaking, the water can bring devastation or opportunity. But the water and the energy from the release are pure.
Toward what is true for you.
This pull can take many forms, but it generally asks us to expand our ideas of who we are and what we think is possible.
We start to nurse something into existence that is not about our past… and is not trying to become a "special somebody" in the future.
Instead, we are tapping into a deeper intelligence beyond the conditioned mind.
Following this is less about creating some future desired state of happiness, and more about tending more deeply to the present moment.
The present moment becomes our best teacher.

What Will I Learn?
We will initially dive into the inner dimension, since as Einstein said, "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." No matter what we want to bring forth into the world, the inner dimension is always primary.
We will then bring attention to the outer dimension — exploring the forms of our effort, finding and receiving support, identifying our tribe, and the nuts and bolts of bringing an idea into the world.
Do I Need a Project in Development?
No, only that you feel a shift in your life. You may already have embarked on an effort… or are pondering doing so… or simply feel a strong resonance and wish to see what may arise through the course.
How Will I Know if it was Worth it?
I don't know. We are focused on a process and are trusting outcomes. We are not trying to get you to "find your voice" or "make an impact on the world."
The focus is instead on listening, tending, and supporting. It is not that I do not care about results — I love results — but I know the best results, often far more than anything we could have managed, occur when our full attention is in the process.
What Skills Will I Learn?
Learning to listen to and engage with life.
Will Everyone Have Similar Projects?
No. The efforts moving through those in the group may differ significantly, but the process is always the same: sensing, allowing, tuning in, listening, naming our edges and going toward instead of away.
You may want to create the next Google or simply follow your passion to learn how to dance… or learn to do nothing and be OK with that. What matters is that your energy is drawn to it.
Who is This For?
Anyone who feels the pull and for whom this makes sense to them.
I don't think we need more of any particular vocation. The world needs us knowing what is true for us, and receiving and allowing things to come from the inside out, not the outside in.
Should I Apply? How Do I Know This is Right for Me?
If the description makes no sense to you, this course is likely not right for you at this time.
Or if you feel the need to have very specific goals and are dead set on meeting them, this is also not likely right, as we will follow a more organic process.
Please only apply if there is a strong resonance with this invitation.
What is the Process for Selecting Participants?
We will look over the applications, and likely interview people, then see where there are the best fits. If you are not chosen, it does not say anything about you as a person or the worthiness of your efforts in the world. It only means we are either already full, or we may not be able to support your particular approach.
We are limiting this to a max of 25 people.
Can I Apply for a Scholarship?
Yes, please do so here. We only have space for a small number of attendees.
What is the Cost?
$5,000 for the nine-month program. This covers teachings, group sessions, virtual support, and office hours. Travel and housing for the three weekend retreats are not included and are up to each participant.
If there is resonance with these words, please apply.
